So thanks to some awesome council from my good friend and profesor Jeff Boortz I took this past week to begin a process of branding myself.  My new website is up thanks to my html gurus Julia Kuswardi and Bobby Petro.  Design is such a colloborative process and I am so blessed to be surrounded by such talented freinds.  Check it out here.

As soon as one thought that the Segway could not have worst luck the UFREE-HORSE (Action Pony) comes galloping from toystores in China into the streets of corporate America.  By far the greenest of all personal transporters, this vehicle consumes neither gas, electricity, nor hay.  Choose between either the 34” Pony for $196.99 or the 42” for $269.99.  I can only hope that there will be a UFREE-HORSE for rent when I visit NYC next week for F5.

So, you want to learn visual fx…

Being that my degree at SCAD is Broadcast Design/Motion Graphics the only “VFX” classes I am aloud to take are electives.  I am a member of two premium sites that offer high-end tutoring in everything from cloth simulation in Cinema 4D to python scripting in Houdini: FXPHD & CMIVFX.  I’ve completed numerous classes from FXPHD as well as watched all of CMIVFX’s videos on C4D and have yet to be disappointed.  Thanks to Fred Kim for the FXPHD lead.

One of my favorite books on treehouses! I mean the pic on the cover alone…

The world is full of nice, ordinary little people who live in nice, ordinary little houses on the ground. But didn’t you ever dream of a house up on a tree top? Swiss Family Robinson

IF I EVER MAKE IT BIG YOU WILL FIND ME IN THE TREES

One of the most magical movies for me as a kid was Swiss Family Robinson.  I am sure it was me and my sister, Kelly’s, repetitive watching of this movie that inspired my selfless Dad to build for us a tree house.  Of all of my childhood memories, it was the nights I spent alone in that floating house, drawing in my sketchbook, making occasional security checks from the 5 cutout windows, or using my Swiss army knife to whittle a dagger to attack intruding creatures of the night-it is these memories that have never left me.  Before I was 7 I felt the joy, pride, and fear of being a homeowner and today at 28, though my treehouse is no longer there, its magic continues to haunt me.

My Dad, Kelly, and myself working on the treehouse.

Even the snow couldn’t keep us out.

MY MUSIC COLLECTION WILL NEVER BE THE SAME…

This past year at SCAD has led to some beautiful discoveries.  One area that has received some additions is my music collection.  New Wave/Disco House/ElectroPop or basically anything synth-driven was one of the few genres that had not poked its high-top dance shoes into my somewhat exclusive iTunes playlist.  But thanks to my close friends, Julia Kuswardi and Kevi Louis-Johnson, after a few listens to M83, Junior Boys, Hot Chip etc. I flung open the gates and welcomed them with open arms.  So get out of your chair, grab a v-neck t-shirt, and dance it up to the newest addition, PEGASE.

IF YOU EVER WANT TO BUY  ME A GIFT…
Ok, I have found the perfect synthesis of illustration, narrative, and animals.  No, not Winnie the Pooh, but close-Berkley Illustration’s. Each distinguished photo comes with an insightful background into these unique characters.  One day I will have an entire wall dedicated to these gems.
